Brown Bag Talk: Responding to Information Overload

By: Heather Cosson

The Brown Bag Lunch Series at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) presents Stephen Voida, Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University in the Department of Information Science.

In Voida’s talk entitled “Responding to Information Overload: Interfaces, Interaction techniques and Context-aware infrastructures,” he will discuss how informational overload affects individuals. Voida will also showcase novel interfaces that combat information overload by managing information in ways that correlate with how the workers currently organize their daily activities.

At Cornell University, Voida studies personal information management, pervasive healthcare and ubiquitous computing as a member of the Interaction Design and People-Aware Computing laboratories.

The talk will be held on Friday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. in the Katzer Room (347) in Hinds Hall. Following the talk, students will have an opportunity to meet with Voida and ask questions.
