The School of Information Studies is currently taking applications for PLUS Scholars.
The PLUS Upstate program is a partnership between the Syracuse University School of Information Studies, the Center for Digital Literacy, the Binghamton City School District, the Rochester City School District, and the Syracuse City School District to provide online graduate education in urban school librarianship. The PLUS Upstate program is made possible by funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
The first cohort of PLUS Upstate scholars will begin their coursework in July 2004 and then proceed through a two-year, part-time, distance learning Master of Science in Library and Information Science program accredited by the American Library Association and certified by New York State. Additionally, over the next three years, six scholarships will be available for Certificates of Advanced Studies (CAS) in School Media. Those students who apply for the Certificates of Advanced Studies in School Media under the PLUS program must already have completed a master's degree in library and information science.
The application deadline for the Fall (Late August) 2004 cohort of PLUS scholars is April 15, 2004.
