Yellow Ribbon Program

Syracuse University and the School of Information Studies are proud participants of the Yellow Ribbon Program. Schools participating in this program further enhance the benefits of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act for veterans, making higher education more affordable.

Center of Academic Excellence

The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) jointly designate and sponsor the National Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE). The iSchool holds the following designations:

  • CAE in Information Assurance/Cyber Defense (CAE-IA/CD)
  • CAE in Information Assurance Education (CAE-IAE)
  • CAE in Research (CAE-R)

NSA and DHS jointly sponsor the CAE programs to reduce vulnerability in the national information infrastructure by promoting education and research in information assurance/cyber defense education and research across a range of academic disciplines.

Students attending CAE schools are eligible for scholarships and grants through the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program and the Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service Program.
