LIS School Media Governing Council

The School Media Program Governing Council is an advisory group that meets once a year at the School of Information Studies. The council reviews and consults on the competency checklist, course offerings, and marketing strategies of the school media program.

Members of the council are appointed by the director of the school media program, with input from faculty and practitioners. School administrators, classroom teachers, library media specialists, a State Education Department representative, as well as faculty from the School of Information Studies and from the School of Education Instructional Design, Development & Evaluation (IDD&E) program are represented. In addition, a school media student is selected annually to serve as student representative to the council.
