Mission: Explore the intersection of games and libraries. Provide advice to librarians about the most appropriate gaming activities for different demographic groups and library goals and provide advice to the gaming industry about the needs of libraries and schools regarding gaming.
 
Projects:
  • Portable Library Gaming Lab – A traveling interactive exhibit of board, card, and video games designed to expose librarians to the breadth of gaming experiences.
  • Annual Gaming Census – An annual survey designed to collect information about gaming programs in all types of libraries.
  • American Library Association – Working with the ALA to provide research assistance on several funded projects, such as the assessment of gaming programs in libraries.
Center for Natural Language Processing

CNLP’s mission is to advance the development of human-like language understanding software capabilities for government, commercial, and consumer applications. Current projects are exploring the connotative meaning of text, and investigating the dynamics of free/libre open source software development teams.
Wireless Grids Corporation

The Virtual Markets and Wireless Grids project investigates the tremendous value proposition that wireless grid networks offer to both increase access to wireless communication services, and to develop new economic sectors utilizing ubiquitous networks to access grid services.
