About the Windows Project
Leave your mark on the Syracuse University campus! Design a permanent art installation for one to six window wells in the ground floor Hinds Hall.
Dean Elizabeth D. Liddy invites all members of the Syracuse University community to submit design proposals for The Windows Project. Read the Call for Proposals for details about specifications.
Goals of The Windows Project
- Install professional quality, permanent art installations in each of six window wells as the finishing touch to an award-winning Hinds Hall renovation
- Raise awareness of the accomplishments, culture, and scholarship of the iSchool
- Explore connections between information, technology, art, and design
- Provide a substantial commission opportunity for Syracuse University artists
- Build on the rapidly growing partnership between the iSchool and VPA
Key Events and Deadlines in the Commission
- Information session, with presentation by Dean Elizabeth D. Liddy
- 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 2 in 011 Hinds Hall
- Proposals due 5 p.m. Thursday, April 23 in 114 Hinds Hall or e-mailed to windows@syr.edu
- Semi-finalists announced 6 p.m. Friday, April 24
- Semi-finalists public presentations 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 30
- Commission winners announced 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 5
