iSchool Life

The School of Information Studies prides itself on its family-like environment, in which all members—students, faculty, and staff—are supported through formal programs and casual interactions. All iSchool community members are valued contributors in a variety of areas, ranging from research projects and curricular development to extracurricular and social activities and cultural exchanges.

This section gives a quick snapshot of the kinds of activities happening in the halls of Hinds (our home on SU’s Main Campus Quad) as well as an introduction to some of the folks who work, study, build professional networks, and develop lifelong friendships here.

Watch the iSchool video:
Professor Jeffrey Rubin recruits iSchool students each year to run Gate E Operations at the Carrier Dome, an electronic first come, first served student seating system for football and basketball games.
Many iSchool students volunteer at Syracuse area agencies to help teach youths and other community members how to use computers and other technology.
