U.S. Army Signal Center

The School of Information Studies at Syracuse University (iSchool) and the U.S. Army Cyber Leader College at Fort Gordon, home to the Signal Center of Excellence, formally established an agreement to enable qualified United States Army Signal Center students and graduates to complete master’s degrees at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University.

The program allows officers who have completed courses the Signal Center of Excellence in capacities as information systems managers or telecommunication engineers to transfer credits that will go toward their M.S. in Information Management or M.S. in Telecommunications and Network Management degree at the iSchool.

Qualified soldiers will be able to transfer 9 to 15 credits fromthe Signal Center of Excellence to the iSchool and can complete the remaining master's degree requirements online. Additionally, Signal Center graduates are exempt from the Summer Residency Requirement for online iSchool students.

Eligibility & Admission

This agreement applies to students who have graduated from the FA-24 and FA-53 Courses in 2008 or beyond. Students who have graduated prior to this date will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for transfer credit.

Graduates of the Signal Center of Excellence are considered to have completed a graduate program and therefore, are not required to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam) for admission, and application fees are waived for all veterans. Please refer to the IM & TNM application checklist for all remaining required application materials.

The School of Information Studies accepts students under the Advanced Civil Schooling program.

In accordance with University policy, students are required to complete both the the Signal Center of Excellence and the Syracuse University program within seven years.

Transfer Credits

Students receive transfer credit for the work completed in the FA-53 Information Systems Managers and the FA-24 Telecommunications Engineers Courses.
