The School of Information Studies offers two programs at the doctoral level for
individuals looking to deepen their knowledge and experience in information-related
subjects.
Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology
Ph.D. in information science and technology is a research-based degree for those
individuals interested in becoming researchers, professors, consultants, or more
theoretically oriented positions
- 78-credits; campus-based program
- Master’s degree strongly recommended
- Most students accepted into the program will receive funding.
Doctorate of Professional Studies in Information Management
Doctorate of Professional Studies in information management is a part-time executive
degree program for working professionals who are interested in the applied aspects
of the information field
- 51-credits; limited residency, distance learning format (blended learning environment)
- Master’s degree required, at least seven years of relevant senior experience
- Normal Syracuse University rates for graduate level tuition will be charged for
all Professional Doctorate courses.
