Email

Email accounts for students are created by using a system called SUmail. SUmail is managed by the University and utilizes Mircosoft’s Live@edu email services. Students are provided a variety of convenient features such as a 10GB inbox, 20MB attachments, shared calendar and contacts, message tracking, forwarding, and a customizable Outlook interface. Students are allowed to keep their email address after graduating.

SUMail may also be used with third-party email applications and devices.

 

The iSchool utilizes Exchange for faculty and staff email. The exchange server can be accessed by a variety of email clients, including Outlook and Entourage. The Exchange mail system may also be accessed remotely using Outlook Web Access.

Syracuse University has established email as the primary form of communication with its students, faculty, and staff. As such, each user is expected to adhere to Syracuse University email policy.
