  • Advanced Information Management  This site specializes in providing Information and Library Personnel Staffing services. With offices in Northern and Southern California, they work primarily with California libraries.
  • Peterson's Education and Career Center This publisher, with a strong history and reputation as an education related resource, provides a wide variety of educational information on the web, including a section about careers. Excellent articles about job search strategies and refining the resume are included, as well as a search service for job listings, and employer postings.
  • Virtual Job Fair The focus at this site is on college graduates seeking highly technical careers. Useful to anyone are links to top career resource sites on the Internet. This site also provides resume preparation, career specific information, and a career resource library. Search engines make this site easy to use.
  • America's Job Bank This site is maintained by the United States Department of Labor, to provide job seekers and employers a forum for exchange and interaction. The job pool includes 250,000 entries across the nation, and is extremely varied. Indexes enable the user to search by keyword, job title, geographic area, or employer, making it comprehensive but useful.
  • JobWeb The intended audience of this site is current college students, preparing to enter the job market. Included is resume preparation assistance as well as a resume posting service. There is also a library of resources, including links to potential employers, and to useful sites for information about job searching and preparation, such as AskEric.
  • Monster Board This site features colorful graphics, and includes numerous articles about job searching and entering the job market. "Hot" career fields are highlighted. A section titled "Resume City" provides information for resume preparation, and resume listing service for job-seekers; there are also extensive employer profiles for researching companies. It is useful and fun for young job seekers.
  • Career Magazine This site is updated daily, to include articles on issues in employment and work-related features. Also provided are current employer profiles and job listings. Recruiting schedules for large, national companies are listed. A resume bank useful to seekers and employers is also available at this site.
  •  www.LibGig.com Library and information science job postings and other career services, available free of charge to LIS job seekers and job posters. Arranged by date entered, LibGig jobs can be searched by keyword, city, state, country, and category, and postings include non-traditional jobs as well.   

Students in the iSchool’s Women in Information Technology organization visited the General Electric plant in Schenectady, N.Y. GE is one of the iSchool’s top employers, and the visiting students had the opportunity to network with a number of iSchool alumni currently employed by the plant.

The iSchool frequently brings in a wide range of speakers to address students and faculty on issues ranging from entrepreneurship and business practices to intellectual research and curriculum development.
