Alumni Class Leader
M.S. in Library and Information Science ‘04
I began my teaching career after completing my B.S. in Education at St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, third and fourth grades. I also took time off to raise my three children.
In 2004 I completed my M .S. in library and information science at the School of Information Studies along with 30 other teachers from New York City in a special program to prepare librarians for urban schools (PLUS). We formed a closeknit group as we met together in brief residencies in Syracuse and N.Y.C. and completed the rest of our coursework online.
I have been the chairperson of the School Leadership team for five years. In addition I serve on the boards of several other schools and organization, including the New York League for Early Learning, the Genie Foundation, Poly Prep Country Day School and Fontbonne Hall Academy.
I live in Brooklyn, New York and am presently the librarian at P.S. 10 in Park Slope. Please feel free to contact me at rmacrina@verizon.net.
