As a recent graduate with a Masters in Information Management and Certificate of Advanced Study in Information Security Management, I feel honored to be chosen as an Alumni Class Leader. Prior to arriving in the US, I completed my Bachelors in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Pune, India and worked with Infosys Technologies Ltd. as a Software Engineer. During this period, I worked on a client engagement in Belgium that gave me an opportunity to understand international work culture.
Studying in the iSchool was definitely a rewarding and a memorable journey. The iSchool has an excellent curriculum design that offers both diversity and flexibility along with guidance from distinguished faculty. I was fortunate to work with Dr. Art Thomas as his Faculty Assistant and later as a Program Assistant for the GET (Global Enterprise Technology) Minor, a collaboration between SU and JPMorgan Chase. Not only could I enrich my skill set and stay updated with the latest industry practices, but also could apply them during my internships and work assignments.
During my program I participated in various student organizations. I worked with WIT (Women in IT) as Public Relations Manager and with Nanhi-Kali as a Project Coordinator. This gave me a perfect platform to interact with new people and get involved in community work. I have gained valuable experiences while working with both these organizations and would encourage all students to participate in such extracurricular activities. It will certainly help you develop an all-round personality. After graduating in December 2010, I started working with Ernst & Young in Information Technology Advisory Services.
I look forward to interact with prospective students, current students and the alumni group. Please feel free to email me at
