I grew up in Harrisburg, Pa. and received my bachelor's degree in communication from Millersville University. Prior to entering graduate school, I worked for six years in an academic library and then a publishing company that relocated me to California from Pennsylvania. Being on the west coast didn’t stop me from attending Syracuse University. I enrolled in the school’s distance learning programs and completed two master’s degrees in four years while maintaining my full-time job at 3 Day Blinds, the world’s largest retail manufacturer of custom window coverings. Today I continue to work as the director of information solutions at 3 Day Blinds, where I seek to make a difference in the financial performance of a company which values internal and external customer service and integrity above all else.
My favorite times at Syracuse were the Summer Institute classes. I enjoyed the vigorous study and focus required to complete courses in a condensed timeframe, as well as bonding with my classmates while living in the residence halls.
