BS in Information Management and Technology ‘2010
Washington, DC

Choosing the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University to study Information Management and Technology was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Coming from Washington, D.C., I knew I wanted to attend a university away from home that would help lay the foundations of becoming a professional leader in technology. I must say Syracuse University was the place that helped me become that leader.

The iSchool is a wonderful program that equips many students with the ability to become career-oriented. Throughout my college years in the iSchool, I’ve had the opportunity to meet wonderful and inspiring professionals, who guided me throughout my undergraduate career. The significant leaders that I look up to are the faculty and professors in the iSchool. There were many faculty members who helped me with organizing my coursework and finding internships for the summer and school year. With the guidance of these faculty members, I was able to intern at the Government Accountability Office in Washington, D.C., as an IT Analyst Trainee during the summer of my senior year.

The professors at Syracuse University have instilled in me the knowledge and experience to succeed professionally in the professional world. The iSchool professors not only helped me increase my technical skills, but also improve my project management, business, communications, and analytical skills. These skills allow me to be more prepared to accomplish any tasks in my career.

After graduation, I will be attending graduate school in Syracuse University’s Distance Learning Program, as a Master’s student in Information Management. This graduate program will be the beginning of another wonderful journey with the iSchool. I can honestly say that because of the education I received from Syracuse University, I am well prepared and ready to face any obstacle in this society.
