Jahnavi A NarayananM.S. Information Management New York, NYI am from Chennai, India. After having worked in India as a Programmer Analyst for about two years, I decided to pursue my Masters in Information Management from the iSchool at Syracuse University.
Since I joined the program in January 2007, it took me a while to get used to the cold winter weather. But it didn’t take me too long to accustom myself to the iSchool. The school’s welcoming atmosphere, its convivial professors and staff gave me all the warmth that I needed. The curriculum at the iSchool is very flexible and it provides a new line of thought. The blend between management and technology that it provides is perfect for anyone looking to move up the IT managerial ladder.
I was fortunate to have worked with Dave Dischiave and Susan Corieri from whom I gained a lot of new skills. As a graduate assistant, I assisted them in marketing the nationally ranked graduate programs in the iSchool and created and managed relationships with prospective students. I also worked for Jeff Rubin in Internet Consulting Services. In addition to enhancing my IT aptitude, I got to learn a lot about American college sports.
I secured an internship with Ernst & Young in the IT Advisory Services practice. Currently, I work full time at EY.
