M.S. Information Management ‘06
Columbus, Ohio
I enrolled in the Information Management (IM) graduate program at Syracuse University while working full-time as an IT Project Manager within a small State government agency and after being away from school for many years. Having worked earlier in my career in technical positions, I felt that I needed to blend the formal education from a highly respected university with my many years of experience in order to help advance my career to the next level.
Currently, I work as an Enterprise IT Planning Analyst for the State of Ohio. My responsibilities include facilitating networking and collaborative opportunities among the State agencies in the Health and Human Services Community of Interest on IT related initiatives.
My experience in the IM program was both challenging and rewarding. I quickly discovered that not only did I have much to learn, but I had so much to share. The strengths of the Information Management program include the knowledge and experience of the professors, the diversity and intelligence of the students, and the strength and flexibility of the courses.
As a working professional in another state, I felt that the Distance Learning format was a great way to receive a quality educational experience that fit well with my schedule and other responsibilities in life.
While I would gladly provide advice or help answer questions to any prospective student regarding the IM graduate program offered at the Syracuse School of Information Studies, I would especially like to hear from working professionals who are interested in receiving a quality, part-time, distance learning educational program in the field of Information Studies to help supplement their career experience.
