M.S. Telecommunications and Network Management '05
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina

It took me a while to figure out what I really wanted to do until I was an undergraduate in computer sciences and I discovered the fields of telecommunications and computer networks. After extensive research on graduate schools with telecommunications programs in the US, I was pleased to find the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University, a one of a kind in the world. The program appealed to me because it combined the management and technical aspects of telecommunications. So as a student you are actually learning the business, management, strategy and, to some extent, the technical aspects of the telecom industry. The faculty at the school of information studies is world class, and that is what makes a difference in any school’s standing.

During my graduate program, I had the opportunity to be an instructor for Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification at the Center for Emerging Networking Technologies (CENT). I was also a technical assistant at the Information Technology Learning Lab (ITELL). These experiences enriched my education and will help me a long way in my professional career.

Currently I am working for Cisco Systems, Inc. I am part of the Customer Advocacy team, which plans and conducts training sessions for Cisco engineers on emerging technologies. At the same time I am also doing a CAS in Information Security Management as a distance learning student. Do not hesitate to drop me a line with your suggestions on how we can make the class of 2005 alumni team more effective in the future or, if you are interested in attending Syracuse, I would be happy to answer your questions about the school.
