Glen Wiley
MS in Library and Information Science '05

As a History of Art undergraduate at Syracuse University, I became engrossed in the interdisciplinary research of art historians, collaborative digital projects among diverse professionals, and the global impact of the digital information environment. After receiving my B.F.A., I worked within Syracuse University Libraries while taking night and online classes at the iSchool. I gained valuable and varied work experience in the areas of technical services and instructional programs.

Highlights of my time at the iSchool include collaborating with internationally renowned faculty, contributing to the school's Librarians for the 21st Century Award, and connecting with practicing professionals. My iSchool education was a combination of leading information studies curriculum, real life models of library leadership, and practical knowledge of the evolving information field. The school created a cooperative environment among the diverse students, knowledgeable faculty, and innovative alumni.

After completing my MSLIS degree in 2004, I worked for North Carolina State University Libraries and Rensselaer Libraries at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I am currently chief metadata librarian at Cornell University. E-mail me at gswiley@yahoo.com with questions, stories, or a simple "hello" message.
