Opportunities

The school’s funding priorities fall into three general categories: increase innovative technology, advance student and faculty success, and support cutting-edge research.

Technology Endowment Campaign for Hinds Hall (TECHH)

TECHH raises monies for the new home of the School of Information Studies in Hinds Hall to ensure it has the cutting-edge equipment and technology infrastructure needed to propel the school to the next level of excellence and shape the future of the information age for many years to come.

Endowed chairs and professorships

These positions will help us attract and retain internationally renowned scholars and scientists who are leaders in the field of information studies. We seek to establish endowed chairs and professorships in information exploitation, digital literacy, information assurance, multimedia and publishing, librarianship, and telecommunications.

Graduate scholarships and fellowships

These help us compete for the best graduate students both here and abroad. The School of Information Studies makes it possible for students of talent and promise to pursue their master’s and doctoral degrees at Syracuse University by offering comprehensive financial aid packages in the form of distinguished graduate fellowships, graduate fellowships, and graduate scholarships.

Raymond F. von Dran School of Information Studies Fund

Established in honor of former dean the late Raymond F. von Dran, we hope to build a large enough endowment to name the school after one of its finest leaders. Share your remembrance.

Research and development centers

The research labs and centers in the School of Information Studies have achieved remarkable distinction, thereby raising our nation and international profiles. These seven research centers provide an important focus for both faculty and student research that advances the information field and serves the public good:

Join us and invest in the future of the School of Information Studies!

I hope I can somehow save a life by getting information out to the people about our programs for free condoms, testing, and anti-retroviral therapy. We interact with a whole bunch of people who tell us what they need, and we do our best to help them.
