Ryan Scherer

I am a recent graduate from the School of Information Studies with a B.S. in Information Management and Technology and a minor in Marketing from the Whitman School of Management. As a result, I have emerged from Syracuse University as a motivated and leadership oriented individual who is confident and ready to pursue a brand new career. 

 

My time at the School of Information Studies has been a very valuable experience, developing me both as a person and as a professional.  The school’s family oriented environment is what makes it stand out among other colleges and universities around the country.  I immediately felt at home at the School of Information Studies and became involved in activities such as being a teacher’s assistant in Visual Basic programming and being a peer advisor to students.  An education from the School of Information Studies is one that is unlike any other and one that consistently sets its students up for success.

 

I have chosen to pursue a career with Wegmans Food Markets in the Information Technology department located in the corporate offices in Rochester, NY.  Wegmans was voted the best company to work for the in United States by Fortune Magazine in 2005.  My experience at Wegmans as both a part-time employee and a management intern has proven to me that it truly is a great place to work.  I will be working in the Human Resource Systems Group doing systems development work, helping Wegmans manage and maintain information on over 35,000 employees.
