Summer Institute Parking

If you plan on having a car on campus you will need to arrange for a valid parking pass. The parking pass will allow you to park at Manley Field house, which is located on the southern edge of campus. Manley Field house is about a 10-minute walk to campus and there is a shuttle bus service from Manley Field House to campus Monday through Friday. Parking is free and abundant on campus during the weekends.

For those students arriving at residence halls, you may unload and load your personal belongings at the residence hall, but you must then park your car at the Manley parking lot Monday through Friday.

The shuttle bus service is free to students and very easy to use. The buses are regular full size Centro buses and there are three different pick-up points in the Manley Field House parking lot. Two of these pick-up points have glass bus huts; a small white bus sign in front of the orange brick ComArt building marks an additional spot. The bus brings students from Manley Field House to campus and stops in front of the sidewalk leading to the Main Campus Quad. The School of Information Studies is located in Hinds Hall on the Quad. Bus drivers and other students are more than willing to help first time riders and field questions about where the bus stops and picks up. A map of Syracuse University will help familiarize you with the campus and parking areas.

Please request your parking pass at least 3 weeks prior to your arrival. You can request your pass be mailed to you, or it can be picked up on your arrival. For those staying in the residence halls, upon request your pass can be waiting for you at the front desk to pick up at check in.

If your pass is mailed to you, and you forget to bring it to campus, you will need to purchase a new one on your arrival.

“Getting to know the staff, professors and classmates was a tremendous experience in itself, but the most rewarding part has been how the experience has helped in the subsequent classes I have taken.

“I have enjoyed the Summer Institute at the iSchool so much that I am considering taking classes even after I earn my degree.”
