Information about the ALA-SLA student group

Syracuse University ALA/SLA Student Group 

The ALA/SLA Student roup exists to provide resources and programming for the Library and Information Science students at Syracuse University. In this capacity, the student officers schedule speakers, events, and other activities to supplement the LIS curriculum. Two of our goals are to increase students’ ability to network and to be active members of professional organizations. One of the activities is an annual trip to a city where we visit one or more libraries. Cities visited have included Washington, D.C., Ottawa, Boston, and Philadelphia.

We look forward to hearing ideas from LIS students about their ideas for the coming year. Students can interact with the ALA/SLA student group through the ALA/SLA course in the Learning Management System. To be added to this course, contact ILMS support at ilms@syr.edu.
