Program Objectives
The Master of Science in Information Management program in Washington DC prepares students by fulfilling the following objectives:
- provide a current and relevant perspective on the strategic management of information resources in the federal sector
- develop a managerial focus that integrates current information management practices and project management skills in designing and implementing large information systems
- provide an overview of governance and operational issues associated with the management of information systems and applications within the federal government, including architecture, capital planning, security, performance measurement, and workforce planning
- provide an up-to-date picture of IM policy and guidance in the federal sector that includes both a historical context and discussions of implementation challenges
Positions Filled by Graduates
The Master of Science in Information Management program in Washington DC prepares students for technology and business positions at the executive and senior management level in the federal sector. This includes positions as Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, Information Systems Security Officer, IT Program Manager, IT Investment Portfolio Manager, and Chief Enterprise Architect.
