Admission
Prospective applicants will use regular
Syracuse University graduate program procedures to apply for the DPS Program. The Doctoral Committee will begin evaluating applications on
January 9, and will continue to review on a rolling basis. Once accepted, DPS students will register via the regular Syracuse University procedure and “My-Slice” online registration system.
Criteria for DPS student selection are as follows:

Intellectual ability and curiosity appropriate for doctoral level studies, as demonstrated by prior academic and professional activities, application statement, GRE scores (recommended), and a personal interview (telephone, video/web-conference, or face-to-face);
· Motivation and commitment to complete the DPS Program as demonstrated by the
personal statement,
letters of recommendation, and the
personal interview;

Fit of interests and abilities of the student, as indicated from application statement and other evidence, to the capabilities and expertise of the school’s faculty;
· A
master's degree from an accredited university or college, with at least a 3.3 overall grade point average (on a 4.0 point scale) as demonstrated by original transcripts from that institution;

At least five years of experience in an information-related profession as demonstrated by application information, letters of recommendation, and the personal interview;
·
Graduate Record Examination scores of 600 (
GRE is recommended) or higher on the quantitative and verbal sections and 4.5 or higher on the written section of the GRE; or a minimum scaled score of 650 on the GMAT;
· A
minimum TOEFL score of 620 (paper-based), 260 (computer-based), or 105 (Internet-based) for international students.
