Web-based Information Science Education (WISE)

As a founding member of the Web-based Information Science Education (WISE) Consortium, the iSchool at Syracuse offers graduate students access to highly specialized courses from global leaders in Library and Information Science (LIS) education. This collaboration expands the collection of elective courses available at Syracuse, allowing student to explore their interests beyond the limits of the traditional curriculum.

Broadening course elective options

Each semester, students may choose from several WISE courses, with topics ranging from International Librarianship to Poetry and Youth Services. After being accepted into a WISE course, students register directly through Syracuse University; payment and course credit is processed like any other graduate level course. Since capacity in WISE courses is limited, students are encouraged to check the iSchool web site early in the enrollment period for course details.

WISE students engage in rich discussions with classmates from around the world, while studying with expert instructors who are dedicated to fostering a productive online learning environment.
