Graduation Deadlines

All students completing degree requirements in May/June/August and the previous December are invited to attend the Commencement activities in May. It is important that you file the Diploma Request via MySlice by the published deadline dates to be included in Commencement mailings. You will not be included in the printed Commencement program if you do not complete the Diploma Request by the deadline.

Undergraduate Students:
After meeting for your senior check with an undergraduate academic counselor, please be sure to complete and submit the Diploma Request using MySlice. More information on Diploma Requests

Master's Students:
Master's students must file a Program of Study form (MS Word: 75K) by the appropriate deadline date to the Graduate Academic Counselor (114L Hinds Hall) in addition to a Diploma Request.

Doctoral Students:

• Consult the "Steps" section of Procedure for Graduate Candidates document, which describes this process in detail 
• The Graduate School requires students to complete a Request for Examination form three weeks before the defense and by the published deadline 
• Consult the Format Guidelines for Dissertation document for required printing specifications. They will not accept dissertations that do not comply with their specifications.
• The Graduate School advises that you bring your dissertation to the Graduate School for a format check before submitting a final draft to committee members 
• Doctoral students need to submit microfilming documents, Bursar's fee receipt, and surveys with the final thesis copy to the Graduate School to qualify for a degree.
